What better way to start the new year than to do a total refresh on your boring skincare routine that just has not been doing anything for you? Thankfully, I’ve found a whole line of products from Bonitas Cosmetics that has genuinely improved my skin. This is a complete refresh from what my previous routines have been and normally I wouldn’t add or change products so quickly all at once, but I haven’t been doing much for my skin in these recently years and needed a change, and fast.
I’ve always struggled with breakouts, but since my pregnancy it’s been so difficult for me to maintain clear skin for more than what seems like one day. I have acne scarring, I’m beginning to see fine lines, and honestly it’s made me feel so uncomfortable in my own skin. A few years back I shared my skincare routine, which has since changed to using products like Differin and Curology. Although I’d see minor improvement with those products, I lacked a full routine that provided my skin with what it needed.

I was gifted* items from their Active Peptides skincare line recently and thought this would be the perfect opportunity to really step up my skincare routine again. Peptides are known to help reduce inflammation, even out skin tone, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles (pretty much exactly what my skin has desperately been needing). The products I was sent included:
- Rejuvenating Cleanser with Active Peptides
- Rejuvenating Toner with Active Peptides
- Synthetic Peptide Serum
- Rejuvenating Eye Cream with Active Peptides
- Rejuvenating Face Cream with Active Peptides
- Microderm Cleanser
- Biocellulose Facial Mask with Active Peptides
While I’ve only started using this five step routine for a few weeks, I’ve seen such an improvement in my skin. Maybe it’s just the fact that I haven’t had a full routine in such a long time or maybe it’s the consistency of use, but either way I’m feeling more confident in my skin again. All of these products are good for all skin types, but everyone’s skin is different and maybe these products won’t necessarily work for you, please keep that in mind whenever using any new skincare products. Two products I always mention to people as a necessity for better skin is a serum and moisturizer. These are the products you should be using to see the most improvement in your skin.

Rejuvenating Cleanser with Active Peptides — $28
This cleanser is good for all skin types and is gentle on the skin. In addition to cleansing, it helps hydrate the skin using peptides that focus on the skin’s keratin. This provides your skin with protective, softening properties and assists with water retention (decreasing puffiness you may see during the early morning or even throughout the day).

Rejuvenating Toner with Active Peptides — $28
This toner helps remove any additional dirt from the skin, moisturizing without a greasy feel (which as a person with combo/oily skin is a huge plus for me), while also firming and smoothing the skin and any wrinkles. Great for all skin types, your skin will be charged with vitality through the use of peptides and hyaluronic acid ingredients.

Synthetic Peptide Serum – $24
This serum strengthens the skin’s barrier and improves dark and uneven skin tone, repairing acne scarring and reducing blemishes. I’ve been breaking out lately and this has significantly reduced any current breakouts. Additionally, this serum helps repair wrinkles, while hydrating and improving the elasticity of the skin. Using synthetic peptides, you’ll see tightening in the skin. Everyday use will help with early signs of aging through the use of antioxidants.
While this bottle is on the smaller side, a little goes a long way and it’s one of the lowest priced serums I’ve seen that actually does its job.

Rejuvenating Eye Cream with Active Peptides — $38
This eye cream provides hydration and elasticity to dry skin that can form under the eye. With improved hydration and elasticity, your under eyes will have increased collagen production, delaying the appearance of wrinkles and expression lines and minimizing any existing ones
The skin under the eyes is more sensitive and prone to dryness and damage. Over the last couple of years I tend to get dry patches near my eyes during the winter, so adding this to my routine has made a huge difference in keeping this area protected and smooth.

Rejuvenating Face Cream with Active Peptides — $48
Great for all skin types, Bonitas Cosmetics peptide-based formula promotes collagen synthesis, providing restructuring effects that improve and reduce wrinkles and expression lines in the skin. This cream helps regulate fat production, uses antioxidant ingredients, and penetrates deep into the skin.
Because of my oily/combo skin, I’m often very hesitant to try new creams, or any skincare items for that matter, due to my skin looking and feeling greasy. Not the good, healthy looking shine you may think of either, but the “dirty, hasn’t washed her face” kind of greasy. This is just how my skin has always made me feel, but thankfully this routine has made my skin look healthier and cleaner, without that nasty looking grease.
Bonitas Cosmetics has a great 4 Step Skincare Kit, which includes the Rejuvenating Cleanser, Toner, Eye Cream, and Face Cream for a total of $142 or you can buy individual items, depending on what you’re looking for.
Two additional items I’ll mention from Bonitas Cosmetics include:
- The Micro Derm Cleanser ($28) deeply cleanses impurities by removing dead cells and works as a facial scrub. Using a facial scrub helps with regenerating new skin cells, leaving the skin smoother and brighter.
- The Biocellulose Facial Mask with Active Peptides ($40 for a pack of four masks) helps moisturize and firm the skin, activating cell regeneration, and helps against signs of aging skin.
With a little more use I’ll share more information and my full review on these two products soon enough. The results I’ve seen from these other products has already made such an impact, so I’m excited to see what further improvements I’ll make with my skin!
