Happy Monday, beauties! (okay, but is any Monday actually ‘happy’?)
How was everyone’s weekend? The weather has finally started to get better, but the last few days have been so dreary here in Massachusetts. We didn’t let that stop us this weekend though. On Saturday morning, Tad woke me up early and we hopped in the car to drive to Sutton, MA for a hike.
A few years ago, we drove out to Purgatory Chasm for my birthday for a hike and we decided to take a trip back this weekend. Purgatory Chasm is located in Sutton, MA and features some amazing natural rock formations that visitors can climb and adventure through. The trails travel through the woods and feature markings for hikers to follow safely. I wouldn’t suggest this hike to older folks or younger children – the rock ‘valley’ (I guess this is the best way I would describe it) can be very difficult and dangerous to climb. Here are some pictures from our hike:
After our hike, we stopped into Moe’s Southwest Grill for some lunch. Neither of us have had Moe’s before, as there isn’t any locations too close to us. We both tried their carnitas quesadillas with chips and salsa. I’ll be honest with you, the food was pretty good, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to make another trip back. I think the most exciting part about Moe’s was the free chips and salsa, which featured a salsa bar. The salsa bar had a few different choices (all of which were AMAZING) that you could scoop into a little cup and enjoy with your meal. If you’ve had Moe’s before, what’s your favorite meal to get?
Later in the evening, we made our way over to a friend’s house. I was under the impression we were just hanging out and heading out to a local bar for karaoke, but we walked into a complete surprise. Like our engagement a few weeks back, Tad and some friends planned a surprise engagement party for us both without my knowledge. We got to see some faces we haven’t seen in years and received some awesome gifts. It was an intimate gathering and my awesome dad even stopped by. I’m so thankful for all of these people… it was such an amazing time.
What did you all do this weekend? Was it an exciting weekend or a quiet, relaxing weekend for you? Did you celebrate Mother’s Day with your mums or your own children? I’d love to hear what you did, so let me know in the comments!
