Face Mask Favorites

Happy Friday!

There’s no better way to treat your skin than a consistent routine. Whether you religiously keep up with your skincare routine, drink at least 8 cups of water daily, or stay away from those chocolate bars, taking care of your skin is key to, well… good skin! Unless, of course, you were blessed with amazing genes and naturally have smooth skin and an even skin tone.

So, what’s your routine? Do you have a daytime and nighttime routine? How many times a week do you use a mask or scrub? What’s your skin type? The list of questions regarding skincare goes on and on and on. Everyone’s skin is different, so products that may work for you may not always work for someone else. Interested in what products I recommend and use for my combination/oily skin? Check out my top skincare items post.

While I admit I have not been keeping up with my routine consistently lately, I will give myself a pat on the back and say I’m TRYING to still treat my skin. I’ve recently grown an obsession to face masks and my newest product is from Lush Cosmetics. The Cup O’Coffee face and body mask is the perfect mask for tired and dull skin. Similar to a real cup of coffee, for you caffeine addicts, this mask will wake up a tired (complexion).

This mask contains kaolin, a soft clay, which helps for a deep cleanse and exfoliates the skin. Ground coffee ingredients not only bless you with an intoxicating aroma, but will additionally help buff away dead skin cells and help keep your skin glowing. I immediately fell in love with how this felt on my skin. After letting it sit for 15 minutes, I massaged the mask off, gently exfoliating my face. When I tell you my skin felt AMAZING after just one use, I am not lying. My skin didn’t feel dry or tight or oily. I cannot wait to try this out on my body now!

Another new favorite I’ve enjoyed recently is the ELEMIS Superfood Vital Veggie Mask. I received this product in my Boxycharm July box and it’s perfect after a day out in the sun. Truthfully, I don’t find myself soaking in the sun too much lately. I burn easily (even after reapplying SPF 50 plenty of times), so I try to avoid too much sunlight in the summer heat. Thankfully, I had this handy after a recent day by the pool.

pdp_840x840_superfood_vital_veggie_maskThe ELEMIS Superfood Vital Veggie Mask is another mask that’s perfect for tired and dull skin. This moisturizing mask holds healthy ingredients like wheatgrass and kale (great for a healthy complexion), avocado and chia seeds (to soften skin and lock in moisture), and Vitamin C (for a brighter complexion). In addition to other healthy ingredients, this mask is also cruelty free. After a quick 10 minutes, your skin will feel the smoothest it has ever felt. I had to stop myself from touching my face after the first use, because my skin was just SO smooth!

The only thing that I did not fully enjoy from the ELEMIS mask, was the slight tingling sensation during the first few minutes after application. Thankfully, ELEMIS does give you a warning about this sensation and advises this occurs as the mask “works its magic”.

So, what are your current favorite face masks? Have you tried either of the masks I mentioned above? If so, share your experiences and thoughts in the comments!

Lush masks tend to smell nice and work well but look a little strange sometimes haha. I’ve not tried that many face masks so I’ll keep an eye out for these. Have you tried sheet masks at all?

This was the first mask from Lush I’ve tried and I was pretty happy with the results. Definitely see if you can pick up a sample. I haven’t tried sheet masks yet, but see them everywhere. Let me know if you have any recommendations. I’d love to try something new out.

Yeah for sure, they’re great for loads of little samples. I haven’t got a specific sheet mask I use personally – TJMaxx sometimes do multipacks that work out way cheaper. I’ve found Korean ones there in the past, definitely worth trying out 🙂

I try to do a mask about 5 times a week. I rotate through wash off masks, peel off masks and sheet masks. Cup O Coffee is a great body mask as well! The caffeine really helps stimulate and reduce cellulite! All lush masks are so great! But depending on skin type some are better than others, Brazened Honey and Mask of Magnanimity are my favs!

I’ve been wanting to try Cup O’Coffee on the body, so now I’ll have to with your recommendation! I’ve been looking into other masks by Lush and both of those you mentioned are ones I’ve been looking at. I’ve also been considering their Cosmetic Warrior mask too (for my breakouts), but the garlic ingredient is a little off putting.

Yes definitely give it a try! I do like the cosmetic warrior, my skin feels so soft and fresh afterwards, but it’s definitely not a luxurious feeling. The texture and smell are a little off putting compared to the others…but the benefits are worth it! I would use Rosy Cheeks because I loved the smell! Even though that mask doesn’t do as much for my skin type haha but it smells so good!!
